Pay It Forward |
My friend Meagen did this on her blog and sent me an awesome hand made book!
So here I go: The first five commenters on this post will get something special in the mail from me!! Then you do the same type thing on your own blog and so on, etc.
Since nobody reads my blogs and the only comments I get are the spam that I can't get rid of - I'm probably safe! lol |

At Least He's Smart! |
| So when it's muddy outside inevitably the dogs track in the mud. Jasper especially (see previous post). But at least he's smart and knows he needs a bath! I came home last night and this is what I found in the bathtub - muddy paw prints! My baby is so smart! |

The Value of Making Your Bed |
I've never understood the value of making your bed - you're just going to mess it up when you go back to bed!
This is something I have struggled with my entire life. Sure it makes your room look nicer but who cares? It's MY room! If I make it up nice - it's all going to come apart during the night as I toss and turn and wrap myself up in the blanket. It's just easier to not make it!
Well, Jasper may have helped me see the light -- the value of making your bed is that this doesn't happen to your sheets! Thanks Jasper and thank you rain for making the backyard muddy!

Signs of Paxton and Jasper |
Anyone who knows me knows I love my puppies. They are my babies. When I go on trips I really miss them. Traci is awesome to take care of them. I will text her and ask how they are - "Fine, but they miss mommy!" After being on a trip I love coming home to them. They get so excited. Paxton wags his tail so much his whole butt wiggles! Jasper jumps up and runs from me to the door to the bedroom back to me - he doesn't know what to do with himself! I love it!!
As we were driving across the country we passed Jasper, Indiana and Paxton, Nebraska. I had to take pics of the signs!!

9 States, 3 Timezones, 2 Days, and 1944 miles later . . . |
Last night we got to Kansas City and I felt like I could go further - the kids were asleep so we decided to take advantage of it. We were just outside of Lincoln, NE. I was totally focused on the road, not falling asleep, and finding a motel. All of a sudden there were flashing lights behind me. Oh Crap! I pulled over and noticed the 55 MPH sign. I thought it was 65. So this lady trooper comes up and says, "do you know the speed limit?" I said, "well I thought it was 65 but (pointing to the sign) I was wrong." She says, "well you were going 78." "Oh my gosh (I say in my most apologetic innocent voice) I was so focused on the road I didn't notice!" "License, registration, and insurance please." So I hand her my license, Andrea fishes the registration out of the glove box, and finds an expired insurance card. Great. She went back to her car and we started getting punchy. It was just all too funny. Finally after a really long time she came back. She said she was going to give me a warning and that we needed to get our paperwork in order. We had given her an expired registration from Utah! Thank you nice Nebraska Trooper Lady!!!
So we woke up at 6:30 am, ate the nice free breakfast, showered, loaded our crap back into the car and were on the road by 8:30. Nebraska is flat, cold, boring, oh did I say flat? Thank heavens for DVD players and video iPods! The kids were really good and only asked a few dozen times when we were going to get to Nana's! We started hitting some snow flurries the closer we got to Wyoming. We kept checking the weather on my awesome new HP Mini Netbook (post to come later). No road closures. It got a little hairy through parts of Wyoming. At times were were going 35 mph. We saw about 3 accidents. Pretty scary.
Lily was getting hungry and tired of being in her seat, but we just had to let her scream. Finally when it cleared up, Andrea climbed back so she could feed her and soothe her. I had a great shot of Andrea leaning over the seat but she threatened me if I published it! So here is one of her feeding Lily. We made it to Rock Springs and stopped to get gas, go potty, and get some dinner. We got back on the road and headed home! The weather pretty much cleared up by the time we hit the Utah border.
So after 31 hours of driving - we made it home! I was so happy to see my babies! I missed them so much. I love how excited they get when I come home after a trip. I was exhausted but all in all it was a good time. I loved being able to spend time with my best friend Andrea. I love Luke, Gabby and Lily! Now they are here we can have fun together--outside of the car!
